The prime example was the third quarter. And what an exceptional quarter that was for the still-undefeated Vikings. With a blistering defensive effort spearheaded by junior Connor Duggan, Voorhees suffocated Bernards with a withering effort — allowing a single point — that left all but the final score in question. Senior Justin Vernieri scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and he led three Vikings in double figures in a decisive victory on Tuesday evening in Glen Gardner.

Aiden Pierro scored 14 points and Duggan contributed 12 points, three rebounds, four steals and two blocks for the Vikings , who outscored Bernards in the third quarter. Duggan had eight points and Vernieri had seven in that period which saw the Vikings hold Bernards to 0 for 12 shooting from the field and force eight turnovers.
